The Army course is delivered from within the Army Staff in the Ministry of Defence.
The course is run annually by an Army officer at Lieutenant Colonel rank. The aim of the course is to give students a variety of opportunities to learn about the lives of Army personnel and their families both in the UK and overseas.
The course is typically split into four themes around which visits are focussed:

The Army Foundation College – where under 18s are selected and trained
Royal Military Academy Sandhurst – where officers are trained
